ECO runs youth skills training, animal care, and community events on Grand Turk. We earn our own revenue rather than waiting on grants — and we use it to pay people here for real work, while students learn the job by doing it alongside them.
Three things, done consistently
ECO is small and deliberately unglamorous. We picked three things Grand Turk actually needs and we do them every month, in public, where anyone can turn up and see for themselves.
Youth skills training
High-school students and recent graduates work our events for real: planning, setup, cash handling, customer service, running a station of their own. They share in pooled tips, so the learning comes with a pay packet.
These are the skills that get someone hired — and most of them aren't taught in a classroom.
Animal care & welfare
Grand Turk has no resident veterinarian. ECO helps fill that gap: community animal care, outreach, and support for visiting clinics — we backed the TCSPCA's free clinic with funding and volunteer hands at intake.
Long term, the ECO Lab includes a proper veterinary clinic team.
Community events
Bingo on the beach every month — food, drinks, three rounds of prizes, a kids zone, and a growing crowd of regulars. It brings the island together and it pays for the rest of the work.
Events are our engine: they fund the programs, and they put paid work in the hands of people in this community.
ECO Beach Bingo — Saturday, August 29
New location this month. Bingo #4 moves to the Beach Club, where we're working with local friends who already run the restaurant and bar — so there's a proper kitchen, a real bar, and restrooms on site. We bring the tables, the lights, and the decor. Bring the family and come early; the good tables go first.

Sponsors cover the prize money — which means every dollar of ticket revenue goes straight to the programs instead of back out as winnings. Your name and logo go up in front of every guest, on the night and here on the site.
The ECO Lab
Everything we run today is a step toward one building.
The ECO Lab will be Grand Turk's first purpose-built youth skills and animal care centre: classrooms, equipment, full-time teachers, and a resident veterinary clinic team under one roof. A permanent home for year-round training instead of a tent on the beach.
It is a long build and we are honest about that. The path runs through a Crown Land application, through grants, and through proving — month after month — that ECO does what it says it will do. Every Bingo is part of that evidence.
What it takes
- Land secured for the beach site and the building
- Classrooms and equipment for hands-on training
- Full-time teachers, not volunteers only
- A veterinary clinic team resident on the island
- Operating funds that don't depend on any single donor
Four months, four events, no missed months
We think the most useful thing a small non-profit can show is a pattern of turning up. Here is ours so far.
July 18 — Bingo #3
Third monthly Bingo on the beach. Students ran more of the operation than at any event before it.
June 20 — Bingo #2
Second monthly Bingo. Smoother night, bigger crowd, a core of regulars starting to form.
May 2 — Launch
A full-day community celebration on Duke Street Beach that launched the whole model — kids zone, local vendors, and bingo under a full moon.
